THE REFLECTIONS OF DIGITALIZATION AT ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL: INDUSTRY 4.0 IN TURKEY

Abstract

Purpose - Recent developments on internet and digitalization
have emerged the fourth industrial revolution named as Industry 4.0. While some
researches have been carried out on Industry 4.0, there has been no detailed
investigation on the impacts of Industry 4.0. This paper attempts to show the
effects of Industry 4.0 at organizational level.    

Methodology - Qualitative method is used in this study. The data
were collected through five open ended questions. Questions were asked to ten
executives from diverse organizations. Answers were analyzed by researchers by
applying content analysis method. 

Findings- At the end of analyses, the impacts of Industry 4.0
were categorized by two extensive scopes. First includes organizational level
impacts and individual level impacts, second includes positive impacts and
negative impacts.



Conclusion- The present study fills a gap in the Industry 4.0
literature by the contributions of its findings. More research is required to
do in this field over time depending on its increasing use at organizations.
