Assessment of the sleep parameters in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome with a history of traffic accident

Abstract

Objective: In this study, traffic accident with a history of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) in patients with polysomnographic parameters was investigated. Methods: A total of 77 OSAS patients were included in the study. All-night polysomnographic recordings ob­tained from patients with enuresis parameters and the presence of traffic accidents recorded in standard form. Results: The mean age of patients was 45.15 ± 11.53 years. 53% of the patients were male and 47% female. The mean apnea hypopnea index (AHI) in patients was 13.54 events/h. History of traffic accidents was found in 12% patients. Trafik kazası öyküsü olan obstrüktif uyku apne sendromlu hastalarda uyku parametrelerinin değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Amaç: Trafik kazası geçirme öyküsü olan obstrüktif uyku apne sendromlu (OUAS) hastalarda polisomnografik pa­rametrelerin araştırılması amaçlandı. Yöntemler: Çalışmaya 77 OUAS hastası alındı. Hasta­ların tüm gece polisomnografik kayıtları ile elde edilen parametreler ve trafik kazası öyküsü standart forma kay­dedildi. Bulgular: Hastaların yaş ortalaması 45,15 ± 11,53 yıldı. Hastaların %53\'ü erkek, %47\'si kadındı. Hastaların apne hipopne indeksi (AHİ) ortalaması 13,54 adet/saat idi. Hastalarda trafik kazası geçirme öyküsü %12 olarak sap­tandı.
