Abstract

Meme apsesi, memenin sık karşılaşılan enflamatuar bir hastalığı olmasına karşın nadiren de olsa altından malign özellikli durumlar çıkabilmektedir. Memenin primer skuamöz hücreli karsinomu (MPSHK) buna örnektir. Literatürde apse ile prezente olan MPSHK oldukça sınırlı sayıda hastada bildirilmiştir. Nadir olarak görülmesine rağmen, meme apsesi belirtileri ile başvuran ve tedaviye zayıf yanıt gösteren postmenopozal kadınlarda MPSHK hastalığı olasılığı her zaman ayırıcı tanıda düşünülmelidir.

Abstract

Although breast abscess is a common inflammatory breast disease, there are rare cases that were found to be associated with malignancy. Primary squamous cell carcinoma of breast (PSCCB) is an example of this. Only a very limited number of PSCCB patients presented with an abscess are reported in the literature. Although rarely seen, postmenopausal women presented with symptoms of breast abscess and exhibiting a poor response to treatment, the possibility of (PSCCB) disease should always be considered in the differential diagnosis.
