Abstract

An Uncommon Method of Evaluating Nutritional Status: BIA

Year 2017, , 61 - 66, 01.04.2017
https://doi.org/10.5222/j.child.2017.061

Abstract

An accurate estimate of body composition is important in the assessment and monitoring of nutrition. Knowing the normal growth rate of children helps early diagnosis of diseases and reduces unnecessary examinations. Different and effective methods for evaluating body compositions have been developed in recent years. Effective measure- ment of body composition is crucial in taking important health-related decisions in different branches of the clini- cal sciences. BIA has become a frequently used method in assessing the body composition of patients in clinics as a result of being safe, an indirect method, partly low cost, and an effective evaluation method
