Prematüre Retinopatisi Tarama Sonuçlarımız

Abstract

Amaç: Çalışma Prematüre Retinopatisinin PR sıklığını ve risk faktörlerini saptamak amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Çalışmaya Mersin Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi’nde, Ocak ve Aralık 2007 tarihleri arasında yatırılarak izlenen ve PR taraması yapılan 52 bebek alındı. Bulgular: Bebeklerin ortalama doğum ağırlığı 1327±378 g 690-2350 , ortalama gebelik yaşı 30.1±2.8 hafta 23-36 idi. Elli iki bebeğin dördünde % 7.6 PR saptandı. PR’li dört bebeğin ağırlığı 1280 g ve altındaydı. Bronkopulmoner displazi sıklığı PR’li bebeklerde daha yüksek bulundu. PR’li bebeklerin olduğu gruplarda bronkopulmoner displazi, düşük doğum ağırlığı, küçük gebelik yaşı, düşük Apgar skoru, kan transfüzyonu sıklığı ve oksijen tedavisi süresi uzunluğu daha yüksek bulundu. Sonuç: PR çok etkenli bir hastalık olarak bilinmektedir. Düzenli tarama ve olası risk faktörlerinden kaçınma PR’nin neden olduğu körlüğü azaltabili

Results of Screening for Retinopathy of Prematurity

Abstract

Objective: This study was designed to determine the frequency and risk factors for retinopathy of prematurity ROP . Methods: Between January and December 2007, fifty-two preterm babies who were hospitalized in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Mersin University were evaluated for ROP. Results: The mean birth weight was 1327±378 grams 690-2350 , the mean gestational age was 30.1±2.8 weeks 23-36 . ROP was detected in four, out of 52 preterm babies 7.6 % . Birth weights of all 4 infants were less than 1280 grams. The rate of bronchopulmonary dysplasia was higher in the infants who have ROP. The rate of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, low birth weight, low gestational age, low Apgar scores, blood transfusion and longer durations of oxygen therapy were higher in babies with ROP. Conclusions: ROP is known as a multifactorial disease. Regular screening and avoiding from possible risk factors may reduce the blindness caused by ROP
