Amaç - Bu çalışmanın amacı Ar-Ge yatırımları ile entelektüel sermaye (Entelektüel Sermaye Katma Değer Katsayısı (VAIC ) yöntemi ile hesaplanan) arasındaki ilişkiyi panel veri analizi metodu ile araştırmaktır.
Metot – Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören ve 4 farklı sektörlerde faaliyet gösteren 20 firma için 2010-2018 dönemine ilişkin VAIC katsayısı ve bileşenleri hesaplanmıştır. Ar-Ge ve VAIC arasındaki ilişki panel veri analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Analizler tüm veri ve sektör bazında yapılmıştır.
Bulgular- Ar-Ge yatırımları ile VAIC ve bileşenleri arasında genel olarak pozitif yönlü ve istatistiksel anlamlı ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Söz konusu ilişkinin sektörler bazında değiştiği görülmüştür.
Sonuç- Ar-Ge yatırımlarının yüksek olduğu sektörlerde entelektüel sermaye birikimi olduğu ve Ar-Ge yatırımlarına ayrılan kaynakların işlemelere pozitif değer yaratacağı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between R&D investments and the intellectual capital, which is measured by Intellectual Value Added Coefficient (VAIC) method, by panel data analysis.
Methodology – VAIC coefficient and its components calculated for 20 firms, which are traded in Borsa Istanbul, from 4 different sectors for 2010-2018 period. The relationship between R&D and VAIC for those firms analyzed by the use of panel analysis. Analysis has been carried out for each sector and whole sample..
Findings- It is found that the relation between R&D investments and VAIC and its components is positive and statistically significant in most of the cases. However, such relation is subject to change under different sectors.
Conclusion- The sectors, which have high levels of R&D investments, have intellectual capital accumulation; and the resources, which are utilized for R&D investments, will eventually create positive value for companies.
