Journal of Elderly Welfare and Aging Studies

The Journal of Elderly Welfare and Aging Studies (JEWAS) is a periodical, peer-reviewed, scientific, and electronic journal published by the Sinop University Application and Research Center for Elderly Welfare and Aging Studies. Our journal is published twice a year (in June and December) in both Turkish and English languages.

The Journal of Elderly Welfare and Aging Studies publishes original research articles, reviews, and book reviews focusing on the phenomena of old age and aging. Our publication scope encompasses a quite broad spectrum and primarily focuses on the following areas of interest:

• Social policy and welfare studies centered on aging policies, elderly rights, and social security systems.
• Socio-psychological examinations such as the sociology of aging, intergenerational relations, the psychology of aging, and digital aging.
• Innovative fields such as age-friendly cities, spatial designs, elderly tourism (silver tourism), and the aging economy.
• High-quality studies focused on health and applied sciences, including gerontology, geriatrics, chronic disease management, disaster and risk management in old age, and social work interventions with the elderly.

Our journal has adopted the "Open Access" model, which supports the free circulation of scientific knowledge. In this context, everyone can access, read, and download the journal contents free of charge. Absolutely no fees are requested from authors or their institutions at any stage of the article submission, evaluation, and publication processes. In order to guarantee scientific quality and ethical standards, all articles submitted to our journal are evaluated by at least two field expert reviewers through a "Double-Blind Peer Review" process.
