Abstract
Ginkgo leaf (=Ginkgonis folium) is dried leaves which consists of Ginkgo biloba L. (Japanese plum tree) in forms whole or crushed. This species is paleoendemic and its natural habitat is in China, Japan and Korea. Ginkgo leaves contain terpenic lactones and flavonoids which are proved to influence especially brain vessels. This reason, Ginkgo biloba leaves extracts are widely used to treat demantial disorders, such as concentration difficulties and memory impairment and it is among the most sold medicinal plants in the world. Plant especially are growed to produce standard ginkgo extract which used in the treatment of several illnesses. However, ginkgo preparats have been earned value in the marketing of nutraceutical not only standardized leaf extract, but also gingko tea. In this study firstly, the morphological and anatomial characteristics of Ginkgo leaf were determined and their photograps were taken. In the second part of the study, Ginkgo leaf in the commertial tea samples is examined by using the microscop. The upper epidermis of the leaves have no stomata, while the lower epidermis contains a lots of them. Besides, small and large druses are defined as typical components of the drugs
