The Relationship Between Midwifery Students' Perceptions of COVID-19 Control and Attitudes Towards COVID-19 Vaccine
Abstract
Aims:This research was carried out to determine the relationship between midwifery students' perception of COVID-19 control and their attitudes toward the COVID-19 vaccine.
Methods: A total of 225 students participated. The personal information form and the perception of COVID-19 control and attitude scales toward the COVID-19 vaccine were used.
Results: It was observed that the students participating in the study received the highest rate of information about COVID-19 from the ministry of health and official institutions with 39.6%, 37.8% of them were infected with the COVID-19, and 92% of them had COVID-19 vaccine. It was observed that the student's perception of COVID-19 control and their attitudes towards the COVID-19 vaccine were affected by the class and the situation of getting the COVID-19 vaccine, and there was a significant relationship between them (p<0.05). Also, it was determined that the attitude towards the COVID-19 vaccine was related to the fear of the COVID-19 vaccine (p<0.05).
Conclusion: It has been observed that students who are not afraid of the COVID-19 vaccine have a positive attitude towards the vaccine. In our research, it was observed that there was a high rate of vaccination. It is remarked that the students who are not scared of the vaccine have a positive attitude and their attitudes towards the vaccine are high. Considering that the COVID-19 vaccine is a new vaccine and it takes time to understand its effects, these results are compatible with the literature.
