In this study, pyrogenic silica addition clay bricks were produced under a constant pressure and in a hydraulic hand press. Brick clay obtained from Afyonkarahisar region was used as raw material in the production of clay bricks. In the preparation of brick mixtures, 0.1% - 0.3% by weight of HDK-N20 pyrogenic silica additions were added to the clay raw material. Brick mixtures were prepared for a total of 12 series, including the reference mixes. In the preparation of the samples, metal cylinder molds with a diameter of 25 mm were used and the shapes were made under the pressure of 70 bar, with the slenderness ratio of the samples being two (2). Then, the samples were sintered at 700, 800 and 900 °C in the laboratory type oven. The samples were kept for 1 hour at final temperatures. When the findings obtained were evaluated, it was observed that the pyrogenic silica additions used in the production of bricks didn’t show significant changes in the physical properties of the samples, and in terms of compressive strength values, pyrogenic silica additions have been observed to be effective in small proportions in the samples sintering at 700 °C. However, it was determined that compressive strength values varied between 5.7 - 24.6 MPa and the addition of pyrogenic silica (0.3%) added to the structures didn’t cause a significant phase development according to XRD findings.
