Publication Ethics

The ethical responsibilities of editors, authors and publishers are listed below.

Editors' Tasks

Impartiality and Independence

Editors are assessed by considering their academic qualifications (contributions to the field of study and its contribution, authenticity, appropriateness of findings and methodology and clarity of language) and journal conformity. Gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, religious beliefs, political thought or institutions are not considered in the evaluation of publications. At the same time, the evaluation of a publication does not consider government policies or policies of any external institution. The magazine editor has full authority to determine the entire content of the magazine and when it will be published.

Editors are obliged to evaluate publications solely in terms of their academic qualities, ie, their relevance, the authenticity of the article, the validity of the article, and the clarity of the language. The only criteria for evaluating a publication is the extent of the journal's coverage. In the decision-making process, authors have no role in race, gender, religious belief, political philosophy, and / or the institution they work for.

Privacy

The editors and the publishing team can not share any information about a submitted publication with anyone other than the author (s), referees, editorial assistants and publisher. The decision to interview the people referred to is only for the editor.

Release decisions

Editors and publishers will send at least two disciplines to experts in their fields for evaluation of all work submitted for publication. Upon completion of the review process, the Chief Referee decides which works will be published, taking into account the correctness of the study, the importance for investigators and readers, referee reports and legal regulations such as insults, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The lead editor can also take advice from other editors or referees while making this decision.

Duties of Referees

Contribution to publication decisions

Blind arbitration processes directly affect the quality of academic publications. The evaluation process is carried out with the principle of double sided blind arbitration. Referees can not communicate directly with the authors, and evaluation and referee reports are transmitted through the magazine management system. In this process, evaluation forms and referee reports are sent to the author (s) via the editor. Double-sided blinding arbitration helps editors make decisions in dialogue with authors. At the same time, writers have the opportunity to improve their work by obtaining important information about their work.

Instancy

An arbitrator who receives an invitation to conduct an arbitration evaluation shall notify the editor as soon as possible whether he can arbitrate for the work concerned.

Privacy

The work submitted to the referees for evaluation should be considered as confidential documents. The work should not be shown to others, their contents should not be discussed. Where necessary, referees may seek advice from other colleagues with the permission of the editor. The editor-in-chief can give this permission only if it is an exceptional condition. Privacy rules also include those who refuse to referee.

The Principle of Impartiality

No personal criticism of the authors should be made during the evaluation process. Evaluations should be made in a way that contributes to the development of objective and studies.

Specifying Resources

The referees are obliged to report to the authors if there are any citations which are not cited in the work. Referees should pay special attention to the works that are not included in the scene or to the citation that overlaps with similar works. Arbitrators shall notify the editors of any publication or work that is similar to any previously published work or information.

Authors' Tasks

Reporting

In their original research work, the authors (s) should clearly state how and why the study is done and present the results in an objective way. The study should describe in detail the necessary resources that can be used to enable other researchers to do similar work. Compilation articles should be accurate, objective and comprehensive, editorial view and other subjective ideas clearly stated. Unrealistic or deliberately misrepresented expressions constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Data access and storage

Authors should, if requested, make the raw data of their research (if available for data presentation) and make the editors' edition of their articles accessible to everyone. Where necessary, authors should keep their data available to other researchers for at least 10 years after publication of their work (preferably through an institutional or legal data repository or a data center). But; the confidentiality of the participants must be protected and the legal rights of their personal information must be taken into account.

Originality and plagiarism

Authors should only publish their original work and indicate appropriately the works and resources they use. They should also mention other publications that are effective in determining the nature of their work. There are different types of plagiarism: to make another researcher's work look like his own work, to copy a part of another researcher's work without referring to the work, or to express it in other ways, such as his own, or to claim the results of another work as his own. Whatever the case, plagiarism is against publishing ethics and is unacceptable.

Each article sent is scanned for plagiarism using the Turnitin program. In this survey, references and citations are also included. The result of the scan is 20%, and any article over it is rejected without further processing and will not be accepted again if the changes are made. In the scan, the article is not transferred to the Turnitin database. However, other sources such as Crossref, iThenticate, Google Scholar, and literature search can be used, especially if Turnitin is specifically limited to the Turkish database. For editors, it is not a criterion of 20%, they reserve the right to refuse and / or correct the article if they see the slightest problem.

Multiple, duplicated or concurrent submissions / posts

Articles containing the same work as the essence should not be published in more than one magazine or other publication organs. Therefore, authors should not send a work published in another journal to another journal for evaluation. Submitting a journal to multiple journals is unethical and unacceptable.

If certain conditions are met, it may be possible to publish a number of articles (such as clinical guidelines, translations) in several journals. Authors and editors of related journals must accept that the work may be published in another journal. The data and discussions of the work published in a second magazine should be the same as in the previous publication. The first published publication must be cited absolutely.

References to sources

Authors should clearly specify the sources they use in their work and the resources they refer to when deciding the nature of the work. Personally obtained information (conversations, correspondence or negotiations with third parties) should not be used without written permission from the source. Authors should not use personally identifiable documents, such as arbitration documents or grant applications, without the written permission of their owners

Referee evaluation process

Authors are obliged to participate in the referee evaluation process and to respond promptly to requests from editors for raw data, explanations and ethics approval, patient consent, and copyright permits.

If the referees give a "fix and re-send" decision, the authors should systematically make all the corrections requested from them and resubmit their work before the deadline.

Basic mistakes in published works

Finding a major mistake or error in a published work is primarily the responsibility of the author (s). If such a problem arises, the author (s) is obliged to immediately notify the editor (s) or publisher of the magazine and to cooperate with the editor / publisher to correct the error or to withdraw the publication. If a third party learns that editor (s) or publisher work involves a significant mistake or error, the authors are obliged to immediately correct or retract the article, or to prove the accuracy of working with the magazine editors.

Publisher Tasks

Ethical violation status

The Institute of Social Sciences of Gaziantep University (publisher) will take necessary measures to alleviate or alleviate the alleged or proven scientific abuse, fake publication or plagiarism and the related article. This will be done in agreement with the editors of the said number.

Measures to be taken include, but are not limited to, stating that there is a typing error, making an explanation, and withdrawing the article in very serious situations.

Access to journal content

The publisher does not charge any monetary compensation for the processing and publication of the articles during the application process. The publisher is committed to the continued and free use of the journal content.
