TİP I DİYABETES MELLİTUSLU ÇOCUKLARDA TÜKÜRÜK MUTANS STREPTOKOKLARI VE LAKTOBASİL ORANLARI-MUTANS STREPTOCOCCI AND LACTOBACILLI IN SALIVA FROM CHILDREN WITH TYPE I DIABETES MELLITUS

Abstract

ÖZET

Bu çalışmada 6-16 yaşları arasında Tip 1 (insüline bağımlı) diyabetli ve sağlıklı toplam 36 çocuğun tükürük flo-rasındaki mikroorganizmalardan Mutans Streptoptokokla-rı ve Laktobasil sayıları karşılaştınImıştır. Verilerin ista-tiksel analizi diyabetli gruptaki Mutans Steptokoklarmm kontrol grubundan anlamlı olarak daha fazla olduğunu gösterirken (p>0.05), Laktobasil sayıları arasında anlamlı bir fark gözlenmemiştir (p<0.05). Bulgular insüline bağımlı diyabetli çocukların diyet kısıtlamalarına uymadıklarını göstermiştir.

ABSTRACT

Mutans streptococci and lactobacilli in saliva from children with type I diabetes mellitus

In this study counts of salivary, Mutans Streptococci and Lactobacilli were compared between 6-16 years old patients suffering from insûlin-depented (IDDM) and their healthy matched controls. Statistically analysis of the data indicated that Mutans Streptococci scores of the diabetic group were statistically different from those of the control group (p>0.05). No significant differences were found in Lactobacilli scores (p<0.05). These findings show that the diabetics do not care about their diet.
