Abstract

Lipomlar, ince fibröz bir kapsülle çevrili ve olgun yağ hücreleri içeren, yumuşak dokuların en çok görülen selim tümörleridir.
Olguların yaklaşık %15-20’si baş boyun bölgesinde görülür ve %1-%4 oranında oral kaviteyi etkiler. Sıklıkla bukkal
mukoza, ağız tabanı, dil ve dudaklarda ortaya çıkarlar. Genellikle ağrısız, iyi sınırlı, yumuşak veya sert kıvamlı, yavaş
büyüyen yüzeyel lezyonlardır. Kalıtım, yağ dokusu dejenerasyonu, hormonal dengesizlik, travma, enfeksiyon ve kronik
irritasyon gibi faktörlerin rolü olduğu düşünülsede; lipomların etyoljisi henüz kesin olarak bilinmemektedir.
