Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the maxillary anterior tooth color of young Turkish population according to Vitapan Classical-3D Master shade guide and CIE L*a*b* color system, and to evaluate the effect of gender on the color values.Material and Methods: The color of 164 volunteers’ maxillary central-lateral incisors and canines were measured with VITA Easyshade spectrophotometer. Results: For all volunteers, L* values of canines were lower and a* values were higher than central-lateral incisors. Females’ L* value is higher than males (p<0.05). For all individuals; the lowest ΔE values were found between the central and lateral incisors; the highest ΔE values were found between the central and canine teeth. Conclusions: The tooth colors of young Turkish population were especially matched with B and C color groups in Vita Classical; M and L color groups in 3D Master shade guide. No volunteers had D color group in Vita Classical. The minimum distiribution found in R color group in Vita 3D Master shade guide.

TÜRK TOPLUMUNDAKİ GENÇ BİREYLERDE DİŞ RENK DAĞILIMININ İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Amaç: Türk toplumunun maksiler anterior dişlerin, Vita Klasik - 3D Master skalasına ile CIE L*a*b*
renk sistemine göre cinsiyet ile renk değerleri üzerine etkisini incelemektir.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmamız; üst santral, lateral ve kanin dişleri bulunan 18-22 yaş arası toplam
164 kişi üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Ölçümler; VITA spektrofotometre cihazı ile yapılmış; Vita Klasik-3D
Master skalasına göre renk ve CIE L*a*b* değerleri kaydedilmiştir.
Bulgular: Tüm bireylerde kanin dişlerinin diğer dişlere kıyasla, L* değerlerinin daha düşük, a*
değerlerinin daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. L* değerleri cinsiyete göre değerlendirildiğinde; bayanların
erkeklere göre; santral dişlerinde L* parlaklık değerinin daha fazla olduğu saptanmıştır (p < 0.05).
Tüm bireylerdeki en düşük ΔE değerleri santral-lateral dişleri arasında, en yüksek değerler ise santral
ve kanin dişleri arasındadır.
Sonuç: Türk toplumunun genç bireylerinde doğal diş rengi Vita Klasik skalasına göre çoğunlukla
B ve C tonlarındadır, D tonu hiç saptanmamıştır. Vita 3D Master skalasına göre ise; dağılım genellikle
M ve L gruplarında iken en az dağımı R grubu göstermiştir.
