The Terms of Paleontological Classification and Nomenclature

Abstract

Definition of the genus and species of the fosil record in sedimentary rocks in terms of taxanomic principles led to the introduction of a number of terms used in systematic paleontology. In this study on attempt is made to clear the confusion arising from the misuse of the terms that are currently used in the paleontological literature and the oral presentations by giving a crital rewiev of the terms used particularly in systematic paleontology.

Paleontolojik Sınıflandırma ve Adlandırma Terimleri

Abstract

Tortul kayalardaki fosil cins ve türlerinin belirlenmesi ve taksonomik prensipler kapsamında incelenmesi, sistematik paleontolojide bir dizi terimlerin kullanılmasını gerektirmiştir. Bu çalışmada paleontoloji içerikli makale ve bildirilerde karşılaşılan, özellikle sistematik paleontolojide kullanılan terimlerin tanımlan verilerek, bunların yerinde kullanılması konusunda açıklık getirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
