Abstract
Hidrokarbon oluşumunda önemli kantitatif çalışmaların artmasıyla, kesin kerojen tip sınıflama ihtiyacı doğmuştur. Sayısal kerojen tip indeksi (NKTI), element bileşimine bağlı olarak geniş ölçüde kullanılan üçlü sınıflama (trichotomic) sistemi esas alınarak geliştirilmiştir. Bu sınıflama bir temel parametre gibi olgunlaşma düzeyini göstermekte ve kerojen tipi veya bileşimini sayısal bir değerle de ifade edebilmektedir.
