Abstract

Kuyu çalışmalarında ilk amaç kronostratigrafik korelasyonu, sonrada fasiyes korelasyonunu kurmaktır. Bu çalışma ekonomik hidrokarbon birikimini keşfetmek ve haritalamaya yöneliktir. İkinci amaç ise, araziyi üç boyutlu olarak düşünerek (sedimentalojik, sedimanter ve tektonik açıdan) jeolojik yorumu mümkün olduğu kadar ortaya çıkarmaktır. Eğer kuyular dipmeter verileri de içeriyorlarsa korelasyonu kurmak kolaylaşır.
