Participants of the survey were interviewed face-to-face with 15 of them, and 30 were contacted via internet. With these two methods, a total of 45 social studies teachers were reached. In this way, the data obtained from the first group have been tried to be supported by the data obtained from the second group. Semi-structured interview form and written form consisting of fifteen questions with probes were used in the research. The written data, whether face-to-face or not, were analyzed using a descriptive analysis approach. According to the results of the survey, it was determined that all of the social studies teachers had knowledge about the 2005 social studies program, while only a few of them got the opportunity to examine the 2017 program, the vast majority studied the values in the program, and some followed the academic studies in the field of value education. It is also seen that the majority of the teachers have not received a qualified education in the undergraduate period or after they became teachers. In addition, the teachers who participated in the study stated that value education was necessary and emphasized the importance. They talked about the necessity of value education, which is done seriously, not just values education consisting of transactions on paper. It has been determined that studies such as short film screening, story reading and narration, case studies have been conducted. It is also a finding that there is no value education for the activities, and that social studies is a value lesson.
