Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Afet Okuryazarlığı ile Afete Müdahale Öz Yeterlikleri Arasındaki İlişki

Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin afet okuryazarlığı ile afete müdahale öz yeterlikleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Materyal ve Metot: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan bu araştırma Ekim-Aralık 2023 tarihleri arasında Muş Alparslan Üniversitesi ve Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitelerinde bulunan iki farklı hemşirelik bölümünde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini ilgili üniversitelerde öğrenim gören hemşirelik öğrencileri oluşturmuştur (N=800). Örneklem büyüklüğünün hesaplanmasında evreni bilinen örneklem yöntemi kullanılarak %95 güven aralığında ve 0,05 hata payı ile 260 hemşirelik öğrencisine ulaşılması gerektiği saptanmıştır. Fakat araştırma çalışmaya katılmayı gönüllü olarak kabul eden 300 öğrenciye tamamlanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde sayı, ortalama, yüzde dağılımları ve parametrik testleri (Student t testi, ANOVA) ve korelasyon analizleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hemşirelik öğrencilerinin %66.7’si kadın, %78.7’sinin afet ile karşılaştığı, %90.3’ünün afetzedelere bakım vermediği, %64.7’sinin afet konusunda ders almadığı, %67.7’sinin okulda afet planı olmadığı, %86.0’ının afet gönüllüsü olmadığı saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin afet okuryazarlığı ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 30.41±7.98’dir. Öğrencilerin afete müdahale öz-yeterlilik ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 58.01±13.60’dır. Öğrencilerin afet okuryazarlık ile afete müdahale öz yeterlilikleri arasında pozitif yönlü zayıf bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Sonuç ve Öneri: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin afet okuryazarlıkları sınırlı düzeyde ve afete müdahale öz yeterlilik orta düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin müfredatlarına afet ve acil müdahale eğitimlerinin teorik ve uygulamalı olarak eklenmesi önerilmektedir.

The Relatıonshıp Between Dısaster Lıteracy And Dısaster Response Self-Effıcacy Of Nursıng Students

Abstract

Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between disaster literacy and disaster response self-efficacy of nursing students. Material and Method: This descriptive study was conducted in two different nursing departments in Muş Alparslan University and Van Yüzüncü Yıl University between October and December 2023. The population of the study consisted of nursing students studying at the relevant universities (N=800). In the calculation of the sample size, it was determined that 260 nursing students should be reached with a 95% confidence interval and a margin of error of 0.05 by using the sampling method with known population. However, the study was completed with 300 students who voluntarily accepted to participate in the study. Number, mean, percentage distributions parametric tests (Student t-test, ANOVA), and correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. Findings: It was found that 66.7% of the nursing students participating in the study were female, 78.7% had encountered a disaster, 90.3% did not provide care to disaster victims, 64.7% did not take a course on disaster, 67.7% did not have a disaster plan at school, and 86.0% were not disaster volunteers. The mean total score of the disaster literacy scale of nursing students was 30.41±7.98. The mean total score of the disaster response self-efficacy scale was 58.01±13.60. A weak positive relationship was found between disaster literacy and disaster response self-efficacy of students. Conclusion and Recommendation: It was determined that nursing students had limited disaster literacy and moderate disaster response self-efficacy. It is recommended that disaster and emergency response training should be added to the curriculum of nursing students theoretically and practically.
