18-65 Yaş Arasındaki Kadınların Serviks Kanserinden Korunmaya Yönelik HPV Enfeksiyonu ve Aşılanmasına İlişkin Sağlık İnanç Düzeyleri

Abstract

Giriş: Serviks kanseri insidans ve mortalite oranlarını azaltmak için HPV aşılaması, HPV enfeksiyonuna karşı güvenli, etkili ve kalıcı koruma sağlamaktadır. Amaç: Bu çalışma ile 18-65 yaş arası kadınların serviks kanserinden korunmaya yönelik HPV enfeksiyonu ve aşılanmasına ilişkin sağlık inanç düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Yöntem: Araştırma, Kasım 2020- Haziran 2021 tarihleri arasında kesitsel ve tanımlayıcı bir çalışma olarak yürütüldü. Araştırmanın örneklemini dahil edilme ölçütlerine uygun 272 kadın oluşturdu. Araştırma verilerinin elde edilmesinde, “Tanıtıcı Bilgiler Formu” ve “HPV Enfeksiyonu ve Aşılanmasına İlişkin Sağlık İnanç Modeli Ölçeği” kullanıldı. Bulgular: Katılımcıların HPV enfeksiyonu ve aşılamasına ilişkin ortalamanın üzerinde sağlık inanç düzeyine sahip oldukları tespit edildi. Katılımcılar, ölçek alt boyutlarından engel algısı 7.89±2.07 ortalamanın altında, ciddiyet algısı 11.84±2.71, yarar algısı 8.40±2.40 ve duyarlılık algısı 5.32±1.45 ise ortalamanın üzerindeydi. Kadınların sağlık inanç düzeyleri ile yaş grubu, medeni durum, çocuk sayısı, yaşanılan yer ve çalışma durumu arasında anlamlı fark bulundu (p<.05). Sonuç: Çalışma sonucunda, kadınların serviks kanserinden korunmada HPV enfeksiyonu ve aşılamasına ilişkin ortalamanın üzerinde sağlık inancı düzeyine sahip oldukları belirlendi. Kadınların HPV enfeksiyonu ve sonuçlarının ciddi bir sorun olduğu inancına sahip oldukları, HPV enfeksiyonunun önlenmesi ile serviks kanserinden korunmada HPV aşılamasının yararlı olacağı ve bu konuda duyarlı oldukları sonucuna varıldı.

Health Belief Levels about HPV Infection and Vaccination for Protection from Cervical Cancer of Women between 18-65 Years

Abstract

Backround: To reduce the incidence and mortality rates of cervical cancer, HPV vaccination provides safe, effective, and permanent protection against HPV infection. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the health belief levels of women aged 18-65 regarding HPV infection and vaccination for protection from cervical cancer. Methods: The research was conducted as a cross-sectional and descriptive study with an online questionnaire design between November 2020 and June 2021. The sample of the study consisted of 272 women who met the inclusion criteria. “Descriptive Information Form” and “Health Belief Model Scale Regarding HPV Infection and Vaccination” were used to obtain research data. Results: It was determined that the participants had higher than average health belief levels regarding HPV infection and vaccination. The participant’s perception of disability was 7.89±2.07 below the average, while the perception of violence was 11.84±2.71, the perception of benefit was 8.40±2.40, and the perception of sensitivity was 5.32±1.45, above the average. There was a significant difference between women’s health belief levels and age group, marital status, number of children, place of residence and working status (p<.05). Conclusions: As a result of the study, it was determined that women had a higher than average level of health belief regarding HPV infection and vaccination in prevention of cervical cancer. It was concluded that the women believed that HPV infection and its consequences were a serious problem, that HPV vaccination would be beneficial in the prevention of HPV infection and protection from cervical cancer, and they were sensitive in this regard.
