Abstract
In this study, since the Covid-19 process obliges internet-based distance education, it is aimed to determine the opinions of tourism students about this education method and to evaluate the internet-based distance education system. In this context, the data of the study were collected in the period of 21 March-24 April 2020, which is the undergraduate spring semester course of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Tourism Faculty. According to the results of the research, it has been observed that the majority of the tourism undergraduate students (approximately 86%) of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University can follow the distance education course system. It is noteworthy that especially male students find distance-learning lessons more effective and have more satisfaction. In addition, it is seen that the support services, learning conditions, evaluation system in distance education, the effectiveness of the program, and the personal suitability of students to this new system are important determinants of the distance education course satisfaction of the students participating in the research. Within the scope of the study, some suggestions were made to universities and various public and private stakeholders. In particular, it is recommended to the Higher Education Institution (YÖK) to form the infrastructure of the local internet-based distance education system
