About the Journal
The Journal of Baltalimanı (JoB) is the scientific, peer-reviewed, and open-access periodical of İstanbul Metin Sabancı Baltalimanı Bone Diseases Training and Research Hospital. It is published quarterly (March, June, September, December), and the publication languages are Turkish and English.
Scope of the Journal
The Journal of Baltalimanı publishes original clinical and experimental research articles, case reports, review articles, technical notes, short communications, and letters to the editor. The publication policy is based on the principles of scientific originality, ethical compliance, and methodological accuracy.
Target Audience
The target audience of the journal includes researchers, clinicians, academicians, and healthcare practitioners from all medical disciplines, particularly orthopedics and traumatology.

Free Publication Policy
The Journal of Baltalimanı does not charge authors any fees during the submission, evaluation, or publication process. All processes are conducted transparently, and compliance with the technical guidelines published on the journal’s website is expected. Copyright
For articles accepted for publication, all authors must upload a signed “Copyright Agreement Form” to the system. This form can be downloaded from the article submission system.
Published articles may be freely used for educational purposes, provided that proper citation is given and no commercial purpose is pursued. The Journal of Baltalimanı adopts an open-access policy based on the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) principles and publishes all content under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
In this context, authors retain the intellectual property rights of their work, while the commercial rights of the article are transferred to the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health, İstanbul Metin Sabancı Baltalimanı Bone Diseases Training and Research Hospital.
Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy
To ensure long-term access to its digital content, the Journal of Baltalimanı implements various preservation and backup strategies:
Website Backup: All electronic content (website, articles, images, etc.) is backed up in three different locations. Content is accessible through the main server, and in the event of technical failures, alternative backup servers are activated within 24–36 hours.
Abstracting/Indexing Services: Basic information (metadata) of the articles, and in some cases full texts, are stored through various indexing services, providing alternative access channels to the scientific community.
Indexing and Future Goals
Our journal is in the preparation phase for application to the national TR Dizin index and is continuously updated in accordance with quality standards to achieve indexing in international databases such as DOAJ, EBSCO, and Scopus.
Publishing Policy
The Journal of Baltalimanı prioritizes transparency, impartiality, and accessibility in scientific publishing. All editorial processes are carried out in compliance with international publishing standards such as ICMJE, COPE, EQUATOR, and WAME.
