İş-Aile Çatışmaları ve Hayat Memnuniyeti Arasındaki İlişki: Türkiye ve İngiltere'deki Akademisyenlerin Karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı iş-aile çatışmaları ile hayat memnuniyeti arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymak, öte yandan söz konusu ilişkinin İngiltere ve Türkiye için ne kadar değiştiğini, genellikle kapitalist değerlerin ihraç edilmesi sonucunda bireyselleşen dünyada bu tabloların ne kadar benzediğini belirlemektir. Bu bağlamda İngiltere ve Türkiye'deki üniversitelerin İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültelerinin kadrosunda yer alan akademisyenlerle yapılan anket çalışması yoluyla elde edilen bulgular değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, ilk olarak, Türkiye'deki katılımcı akademisyenlerin iş-aile ve aile-iş çatışması düzeylerinin İngiltere'deki katılımcı akademisyenlerinkine göre daha yüksek, hayat memnuniyeti düzeylerinin ise İngiltere'deki katılımcılarınkine göre daha düşük olduğunu göstermektedir. Bir diğer sonuca göre, İngiltere'deki katılımcıların iş-aile çatışması düzeylerinin hayat memnuniyeti düzeyleri üzerinde negatif yönde etkisi olduğu halde, aile-iş çatışması düzeylerinin hayat memnuniyeti düzeyleri üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi bulunmamaktadır. Türkiye'deki katılımcıların iş-aile çatışması ve aile-iş çatışması düzeylerinin hayat memnuniyeti düzeyleri üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisine rastlanmamıştır.
