Abstract

In this article, some aspects of the Ottoman policies on the Northern and Western Caucasus in the late 18^th Century- as reflected in the documents of the Ottoman state archives, have been analysed. How the Ottomans evaluated the events of the era is highlighted.

В статье рассматриваются некоторые аспекты османской политики на Северном и Западном Кавказе в конце XVIII в. по сведениям документов Османского государственного архива Турции. Показана специфика трактовки событий, свойственной османским документам данной эпохи.
