Bibliometric Analysis of Articles on Intraoral Scanners and Photogrammetry Techniques in Implant-Supported Prostheses

Abstract

Abstract Aim: This study evaluates the publication performance and global trends of research on intraoral scanners and photogrammetry in implant-supported prostheses from a bibliometric perspective. Materials and Methods: A Web of Science (WoS) search was conducted for the 2024–2026 period using keywords related to intraoral scanners, photogrammetry, edentulous arch, and dental implants. Only original articles within the "Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine" category were included. Data from 300 identified articles were analyzed using Biblioshiny. Results: The dataset involved 1,289 authors and 58 journals. China and the U.S. were the most productive countries. The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry (Q1) had the highest number of publications, and "accuracy" was the most frequent keyword. A numerical decline in publications occurred after 2024. Conclusion: The post-2024 numerical decline primarily reflects partial-year indexing rather than a definitive loss of interest. This study provides a comprehensive baseline for future research in digital dentistry workflows.
