Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic hampers sustainable development worldwide. This stagnation requires rapid and systemic changes to reach the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Although trade associations can shepherd this change by coordinating their member organizations’ endeavors, we lack research on how those meta-organizations facilitate sustainable development. We employ the high-impact sampling strategy to examine how Istanbul Chamber of Industry activates its potential in leading its member organizations to achieve sustainable wellbeing. We identify that this meta-organization focuses on certain Sustainable Development Goals more than the others both before and after the pandemic. We offer suggestions to accelerate sustainable development by fully unleashing meta-organizations’ leadership potential.
