The Future of Healthcare Services: Digital Health Technologies
Abstract
By using health technologies in the world, a universal digital health system that integrates with traditional health system is tried to be created. The aim of this system is to reduce the high costs of therapeutic health services and to improve public health and to increase the quality of life. It is
observed that digital health technologies are being used in the field of medicine to support the
targeted system. It is seen that this trend is increasing day by day and it is predicted to increase
rapidly in the future. Within the scope of future predictions, many medical device and
pharmaceutical industry companies are expanding their investment volume in health technologies.
Especially noteworthy health technologies are tele-medicine, mobile devices, artificial
intelligence, wearable technologies and cloud computing systems. This study also discusses the
role of innovative digital technologies in medicine to improve the quality of treatment as well as
increase competitiveness and efficiency in healthcare. It is stated that the digital technology
innovations defined in the studies have not reached the maturity age when the use of the
innovations in health services is still in the development stage. The findings obtained through a
comprehensive literature review will contribute to ensure the full integration of health
technologies into health systems.
