Modernization of Adoption Processes in Animal Shelters: A User-Friendly Mobile Application Approach

Abstract

This study introduces a technological solution designed to overcome the operational bottlenecks in the rehabilitation and permanent placement of stray animals. To address the accessibility and transparency limitations inherent in conventional shelter management, a user-centered mobile platform was developed using the Flutter framework and Firebase database infrastructure. The project incorporates integrated application forms and comprehensive animal profiles to streamline the adoption process and bolster public awareness. Following the sharing of these findings with local authorities—specifically the Municipality of Tarsus—the project was successfully integrated into the municipality’s social responsibility initiatives

Hayvan Barınaklarında Sahiplendirme Süreçlerinin Modernizasyonu: Kullanıcı Dostu Mobil Uygulama Yaklaşımı

Abstract

Bu çalışma, sokak hayvanlarının rehabilitasyonu ve kalıcı yerleştirilmesindeki operasyonel darboğazların üstesinden gelmek için tasarlanmış teknolojik bir çözümü tanıtmaktadır. Geleneksel barınak yönetiminde mevcut olan erişilebilirlik ve şeffaflık sınırlamalarını gidermek için, Flutter çerçevesi ve Firebase veritabanı altyapısı kullanılarak kullanıcı merkezli bir mobil platform geliştirilmiştir. Proje, sahiplenme sürecini kolaylaştırmak ve kamuoyu farkındalığını artırmak için entegre başvuru formları ve kapsamlı hayvan profilleri içermektedir. Bu bulguların yerel yetkililerle—özellikle Tarsus Belediyesi ile—paylaşılmasının ardından proje, belediyenin sosyal sorumluluk girişimlerine başarıyla entegre edilmiştir.
