Mizah: Etkili Bir İletişim Anahtarı Ve Buz Kırıcı

Abstract

Sağlık sisteminin en önemli aktörlerinden biri olan hemşireler, etkili ve nitelikli hemşirelik bakımını sağlayabilmek için hastalarla yakın bir ilişki geliştirmelidir. Sağlık hizmetlerinde yakın ilişki geliştirmenin en önemli unsurlarından birisi iletişim, bir iletişim biçimi olarak mizah ise hasta-hemşire etkileşiminde vazgeçilmez bir anahtar niteliğindedir. Hemşirelik Girişimleri Sınıflaması (NIC)’nda mizah, kişinin komik, eğlenceli veya mizahi olanı fark etmesine, onaylamasına, ilişkiler kurmasına, kriz anlarında stres, anksiyete ve öfkesini gidermesine yardım eden, baş etme becerisini destekleyen bir girişim olarak tanımlanır. Mizah ve gülme, kronik hastalıklarla mücadele eden ve stres yükünden olumsuz etkilenen hastaların duygu düzenlemesine yardımcı olmak amacıyla kullanılabilir. Mizahın ve onun ürünü olan gülmenin gerginliği azaltan etkisi için “buz kırıcı” görevi yaptığı söylenebilir. Derlemenin amacı, hasta ile iletişim sürecinde mizah kullanmanın kanıta dayalı yararlarını bir araya getirerek meslektaşlarımızın ilgisini konuya çekmek, dolayısıyla hemşirelikte mizah kullanımının artmasına katkıda bulunmaktır. İnsan insana ilişki açısından değeri anlaşılan mizahın, etkili bir iletişim aracı ve kolaylaştırıcı olduğu, öğrenilebilir ve geliştirilebilir bir yetenek olduğu söylenebilir. Mizah kişileri yalnızca eğlendirmekle kalmayıp kişiler arasındaki güven ilişkisini de beslemektedir. İnsan sağlığına kanıtlanmış çok sayıda yararı göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, etkili iletişim kurabilmek ve insan ruhuna olumlu temas etmek isteyen her hemşirenin mizahı kullanması önerilebilir.
