Uzay terapisinin serebral palsili hastalarda etkinliği

Year 2025, Volume: 6 Issue: 6, 642 - 646, 27.12.2025

Abstract

Suit therapy effectiveness in patients with cerebral palsy

Year 2025, Volume: 6 Issue: 6, 642 - 646, 27.12.2025
https://doi.org/10.47582/jompac.1793558

Abstract

Aims: To evaluate the effectiveness of suit therapy on function status with Gross motor function measure (GMFM-88) in cerebral palsy (CP).
Methods: Twenty patients suffering from CP were randomized by simple sampling method and divided into two groups as a suite therapy and a control group. A total of 30 sessions were performed to all patients as 5 days a week, by the physiotherapist. Ten patients in suit therapy group were given suit therapy combined with the Bobath technique. Tan patients in control group were treated with only the Bobath technique for the same period of time. The functional status of the patients was evaluated with
GMFM-88 before and after treatment.
Results: GMFM-88 total and subscale scores showed statistically significant increase in both groups with therapy (p<0.05). GMFM-88 changes were compared between groups; suit therapy+Bobath technique was observed more effective than Bobath technique in the lying and rolling, and sitting subscale of GMFM-88 (p=0.045 and 0.048, respectively).
Conclusion: The Bobath method is an effective treatment method in CP rehabilitation. Furthermore, combining suite therapy, which is a new treatment option in the treatment of CP, may be provide better outcomes.
