MULTIPLE BRONCHOGENIC CYSTS IN THE MEDIASTINUM:

Abstract

Bronchogenic cysts define as the subgroup of congenital bronchogenic malformations and usually found in mediastinum, pulmoner parenchym and rarely they can be observed in different localizations such as subdiaphragm. Altough, they can be seen at every age, symptomatic ones generally may be defined at newborn period. 32 years old male patient admitted to hospital by suffering from dysphagia. Multiple bronhogenic cysts found which were located right main bronch (6X10 cm) and esophagiodiaphragmatic junction (5x5 cm). Lumen of esophagus is narrowed by external pressure of cyst. Right thoracotomy performed after diagnosis of the bronchogenic cyst. Cytstectomy were done easily with thoracotomy. There were no complication at postoperative period and the patient discharged from the hospital after 3 days. Bronchogenic cytsts are congenital malformations which are rarely found in multiple localization. Thoracotomy makes surgical procedure easier for multiple bronchogenik cysts located in mediastinum.
