GIANT HYDATID CYST OF THE LIVER. CASE REPORT

Abstract

Hydatid cyst, an endemic disease for the geography including our country, continues to be an important health problem for the countries in which it is endemic. Cysts can reach to sizes that can be called giant in Hydatid cyst disease which is not yet eradicated despite the developments in diagnosis and treatment. The most important problems of the hydatid cyst are the complications and the consequences. The rate of anaphylaxis and mortality can go up to 25% for free intraperitoneal ruptures. The frequency of these complications increases with increments in the diameter of the cyst. With this presentation we aimed in reminding these entities because of a giant hydatid cyst case.

Abstract

Ülkemizin de içinde bulunduğu bir coğrafya için endemik olan kist hidatik hastalığı, endemik olduğu ülkeler için halen önemli bir sağlık sorunu olmaya devam etmektedir. Teşhis ve tedavideki gelişmelere rağmen eradike edemediğimiz kist hidatik hastalığında kist boyutları bazen dev tabir edebileceğimiz büyüklüklere ulaşabilmektedir. Kist hidatikte en önemli sorun komplikasyonlar ve sonuçlarıdır. Serbest intraperitoneal rüptürlerde anaflaksi ve mortalite oranları %25’lere kadar çıkabilmektedir. Bu komplikasyonların görülme sıklığı çapla birlikte artmaktadır. Biz bu sunumda, dev bir hidatik kist olgusu nedeniyle bu antiteleri hatırlatmayı amaçladık.
