Abstract

Cerrahi alan infeksiyonları (CAİ) postoperatif morbidite ve mortalitenin önemli sebeplerinden biridir. İnfeksiyonların gelişmesini engellemek amacıyla etkenle karşılaşmadan önce veya karşılaştıktan hemen sonra koruyucu olarak antimikrobiyal ilaç kullanılmasına ‘antimikrobiyal profilaksi’ denir. Antimikrobiyal profilaksi, cerrahi veya cerrahi dışı profilaksi olarak incelenebilir. Profilaksinin önemli bir bölümünü cerrahi profilaksi oluşturur. Profilaksi için antibiyotik seçerken, en dar spektrumlu antibiyotikler tercih edilir. Cerrahi alan infeksiyonlarını önlemek için uygulanan profilaksi ile mortalite ve morbiditeleri azaltmak mümkündür.

Abstract

Surgical site infection are a significant source of postoperative morbidity and mortality. The term ‘antimicrobial prophylaxis’ is that the administration of antimicrobial drug before or just after a person’ s exposing to causative agent to prevent an infection. Antimicrobial prophylaxis can be divided into two categories as surgical prophylaxis and nonsurgical prophylaxis. A large amount of prophylaxis indudes surgical prophylaxis. Antibiotic select for prophylaxis is preference limited antibiotics. To apply prophylaxis for prevent an surgical site infection is possible to reduces morbidity and mortality.
