Abstract

Bu çalışma; engelli bireylerin spora katılım motivasyonu ve psikolojik dayanıklılık arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Engelli bireylerin spora katılım motivasyonları ile psikolojik dayanıklılık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amacıyla anket yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Anket, katılımcıların demografik bilgilerini, spora katılım motivasyonlarını ve psikolojik dayanıklılık düzeylerini ölçmeyi hedefleyen üç temel bölümden oluşmaktadır.
Araştırmada elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 22.0 istatistik programı aracılığıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan çalışanların tanımlayıcı özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde frekans ve yüzde analizlerinden, ölçeğin incelenmesinde ortalama ve standart sapma istatistiklerinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma değişkenlerinin normal dağılım gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek üzere Kurtosis (Basıklık) ve Skewness (Çarpıklık) değerleri incelenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde parametrik yöntemler kullanılmıştır. Engellilerin tanımlayıcı özelliklerine göre ölçek düzeylerindeki farklılaşmaların incelenmesinde bağımsız gruplar t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (Anova) ve post hoc (LSD) analizlerinden faydalanılmıştır.
Elde edilen bulgular, spora katılım motivasyonunun genel olarak yüksek olduğunu ve özellikle içsel motivasyonun ön planda yer aldığını göstermiştir. Engelli bireylerin spor yapma isteklerinin, başarı hissi, kendini geliştirme arzusu ve haz alma gibi kişisel içsel güdülerle şekillendiği gözlemlenmiştir.
Psikolojik dayanıklılık düzeyleri değerlendirildiğinde, bireylerin özellikle sosyal yeterlilik, yapısal stil ve kendilik algısı gibi bireysel ve sosyal yönelimlerinde güçlü oldukları belirlenmiştir.

Investigating the Relationship between Motivation for Sports Participation and Psychological Resilience among Individuals with Disabilities

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between sports participation motivation and psychological resilience in individuals with disabilities. A questionnaire method was used to determine the relationship between the motivation levels for participating in sports and psychological resilience of individuals with disabilities. The questionnaire consisted of three main sections aimed at measuring participants’ demographic information, their motivation for sports participation, and their levels of psychological resilience.
The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 statistical software. Frequency and percentage analyses were used to determine the descriptive characteristics of the participants, while mean and standard deviation statistics were employed to examine the scale. Kurtosis and skewness values were analyzed to determine whether the research variables were normally distributed. Parametric methods were used in the data analysis. To analyze the differences in scale levels based on participants’ descriptive characteristics, independent samples t-tests, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and post hoc (LSD) tests were used.
The findings revealed that the overall motivation for sports participation was high, with intrinsic motivation standing out prominently. It was observed that individuals with disabilities were primarily driven by personal internal motives such as a sense of achievement, the desire for self-improvement, and enjoyment.
In terms of psychological resilience, individuals demonstrated strong levels particularly in dimensions such as social competence, structured style, and self-perception.
