Müsabakaların İç Sahada Oynanması Bir Avantaj Sunar mı? Türkiye Basketbol Süper Ligleri Örneği

Abstract

Profesyonel basketbol müsabakalarında ev sahibi olma avantajı müsabaka sonucunu etkilemede önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Takımların kendi sahalarına aşina olması, sahip oldukları taraftar kitlesi, deplasman yolculuklarının yapılmaması ve psikolojik etkiler gibi faktörler bu durumu desteklemektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) ve Kadınlar Basketbol Süper Ligi’nde (KBSL) ev sahibi olma avantajı değişkeninin incelenmesidir. Çalışmaya dahil edilen sezonlarda şampiyon olan takımlar, ligden düşen takımlar ve tüm takımların sergiledikleri sayı performansları da ev sahibi olma avantajı açısından incelenmiştir. BSL’de 2015-2016 ve 2022-2023 sezonları arasında oynanan toplamda 1982 müsabaka, KBSL’de de 2017-2018 ve 2022-2023 sezonlarında oynanan toplam 1099 müsabaka incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonuçları incelendiğinde, BSL’de belirtilen sezonlarda oynanan 1217 müsabakadan (%61,40) ve KBSL’de oynanan 603 müsabakadan (%54,79) ev sahibi takımların galip ayrıldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. BSL için ev sahibi olma avantajının en yüksek olduğu sezon %65,77 ile 2022-2023 sezonu, KBSL için de %57,72 ile 2020-2021 sezonu olduğu bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak hem BSL hem de KBSL’de şampiyon olan takımların ev sahibi oldukları karşılaşmalardan genellikle galip ayrıldıkları ve ev sahibi olma avantajını iyi kullandıkları görülmektedir. Basketbol gibi rekabete dayalı sporlarda oldukça önemli bir kriter olduğu düşünülen ev sahibi olma avantajının, takımların performanslarını daha da yukarılara taşıyabilmeleri açısından oldukça önemli kriterlerden biri olduğu söylenebilir.
