Microbial Investigation of Mains Water in Ardahan Central Province and Districts

Abstract

Water is a very important resource for life. Clean drinking water is indispensable for human health. Due to the rapid increase in population, global drought, urbanization, industrialization and increase in agricultural activities, there are great difficulties in accessing clean drinking water. The negative effects of water resources on health should be subject to continuous investigation. In this study, it was investigated whether the mains water of Ardahan province and district centers was microbiologically analyzed in May and October 2023 and whether it was suitable for consumption. In this research, different numbers of coliforms were detected in the waters of the central neighborhoods of Ardahan, Posof, Hanak, Göle, Çıldır and Damal in May. In October, coliform was detected in all samples except the central district of Posof.

Abstract

Su yaşam için çok önemli bir kaynaktır. İnsanoğlunun sağlığı için de temiz içme suyu vazgeçilmezdir. Nüfusun hızla artması, küresel kuraklığın yaşanması, kentleşme, sanayileşme ve tarımsal faaliyetlerinin artması nedeniyle temiz içme suya ulaşma konusunda çok büyük sıkıntılar yaşanmaktadır. Su kaynaklarının sağlık açısından oluşturduğu olumsuz etkiler sürekli araştırılmaya tabi olmalıdır. Bu çalışmada 2023 yılında mayıs ve ekim aylarında Ardahan İl ve ilçe merkezlerinin şebeke suyunu mikrobiyolojik açıdan analizleri yapılarak tüketime uygun olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Yapılan bu araştırmada mayıs ayında Ardahan, Posof, Hanak, Göle, Çıldır, Damal merkez mahalle sularında farklı sayılarda koliform tespit edilmiştir. Ekim ayında ise sadece Posof merkez mahallesi hariç diğer bütün örneklerde koliform tespit edilmiştir
