Sosyo-Kültürel Değişme Açısından Güney Marmara Genç Çiftçileri Üzerine Bir Araştırma çalışmamızın amacı; sosyo-kültürel değişmenin Güney Marmara genç çiftçileri üzerindeki etkilerini, çiftçiliğin geleceğine dair beklentilerini ve 2019 yılına dair çiftçilik algılarını ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma bu konuları araştırmak için genç çiftçilerin çiftçilik deneyimlerine odaklanmaktadır. Araştırma, fenomenolojik analiz kullanılan bir nitel durum çalışması olmakla birlikte çiftçilik ile ilgili konulara genç çiftçilerin bakış açısıyla yeni bir argüman getirmektedir. Çalışmamızda Güney Marmara Bölgesi’nde yaşayan 20 genç çiftçi ile mülakat yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen ana bulgular ve sonuçlara göre genç çiftçiler yaş, cinsiyet ve eğitim durumlarına bağlı olarak, sosyo-kültürel değişmeyi farklı algılamalara sahip olsalar da çiftçilik bağlamında ortak anlamlandırmaları mevcuttur. Toplumsal bağlamda çiftçiliğe dair genel yargılardan genç çiftçiler de etkilenmektedir. Bu etkilenme durumunda bulundukları kırsal çevrede sosyal yalnızlık yaşasalar da gelenekselden farklı olarak yeni kültürel değerlere yönelmeye ve çözümler üretmeye çalıştıkları tespit edilmiştir. Yüzyıllardır kırdan kente doğru yönelen göçün varlığı bilinmektedir. Bu göç hala devam ediyor olsa da kentsel yaşamı sürdüremeyen ve bazı ekolojik farkındalıklara sahip birey ve toplulukların kıra doğru yöneldikleri bir gerçektir.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects on socio-cultural change among young farmers, the importance of sustainable agricultural for young farmers and the perceptions of young farmers about farming in present. In order to investigate these themes, this study focuses on young farmers’ farming experiences in general. The research concentrates on both a phenomenological analysis with qualitative case study and presents arguments of young farmers’ perspectives. In this study there are 20 young farmers interviewed living in South Marmara. According to the data and results obtained in the research, the young farmers have different perceptions about their personal positions such as ages, gender and education. They have also common meanings in the context of farming. In social context, the young farmers have been also affected about the context of traditional farming. Because of that effect, it is determined that despite of the feeling of social loneliness among young farmers, their rural environment coincide in channeling themselves to new cultural values and finding solutions apart from traditional knowledge. Although there is the migration from rural to urban areas for centuries, it is seen that today the individuals and communities who are unable to sustain urban life and have some ecological awareness migrate from urban to rural areas. In fact, with the aforementioned migration movements, the portion of agricultural participation and the methods of production have been affecting to young farmers. As a result of these, with those socio-cultural changes bring about the necessity of the determination of agricultural activities, new and multifaceted agricultural policies.

The journal is published twice a year, in June and December. No fees are charged for publications, no fees are paid to the editors, the editorial board and the referees and their owners. “Journal of Social and Cultural Studies” is open to the work of all researchers who have the title “PhD” or “PhD student”. It is not obligatory that the second, third and fourth authors of the article have the title “PhD” or “PhD student”. An article should has been written by max. four authors. The articles prepared in accordance with the writing rules are presented to the referee for review after they have passed the editorial review. The reviewer may ask for a correction to the article, directly refuse or accept it. For the articles declined as a result of the reviewer evaluation, a second reviewer may be requested by the author, If the editors’ board finds that the request is appropriate, the article will be sent to a second reviewer.
The articles previously published in another publication or in the evaluation stage by another publication are not accepted into “Journal of Social and Cultural Studies” publication process. All the ethical and legal responsibilities related to the published articles belong to the authors.
