Aim & Scope

The Journal of Security and Intelligence Studies aims to contribute to the process of reflecting the value of intelligence within the field of security into the academic sphere, within the framework of the historical and strategic relationship between the concepts of security and intelligence.

The Journal of Security and Intelligence Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published twice a year, focusing on original national and international research under the primary headings of “Security” and “Intelligence.” The journal is committed to publishing original theoretical and/or applied studies by addressing security and intelligence issues at national and international levels through both multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Within the scope of the journal, studies in the core areas of security and intelligence will be evaluated, including but not limited to: the relationship between security and intelligence, intelligence in counter-terrorism, international relations theories and security/intelligence, intelligence in combating ideological, religious, or ethnic radicalization, cyber security/intelligence, comparative intelligence (at the level of concepts, cases, organizations, and states), intelligence collection methods, covert operations, intelligence analysis techniques, intelligence and security management, counter-intelligence and counter-espionage, defense sciences and security/intelligence, and intelligence in combating organized crime.

The Editorial Board attaches great importance to the academic development of graduate and doctoral students. To this end, the journal endeavors to include studies co-authored by graduate and doctoral students alongside their faculty advisors in each issue.

Only original, unpublished manuscripts that are not currently under review by another journal and whose content and submission have been approved by each author are accepted for evaluation.

The target audience of our journal includes practitioners, specialists, researchers, and doctoral students working in the fields where article submissions are accepted, as well as undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in these areas.

The journal evaluates studies in the fundamental fields of security and intelligence, including the relationship between security and intelligence, intelligence in counter-terrorism, international relations theories and security/intelligence, intelligence in combating ideological, religious, or ethnic radicalization, cyber security/intelligence, comparative intelligence (at the level of concepts, cases, organizations, and states), intelligence collection methods, covert operations, intelligence analysis techniques, intelligence and security management, counter-intelligence and counter-espionage, defense sciences and security/intelligence, and intelligence in combating organized crime.
