TURİZMDE TEKNOLOJİ ÇALIŞMALARI

Year 2021, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 270 - 295, 08.09.2021

Abstract

TECHNOLOGY STUDIES IN TOURISM

Year 2021, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 270 - 295, 08.09.2021

Abstract

The aim of this study is to bring together the technology-related studies published in the field of tourism and present them to the national literature, to reveal what the publications focus on and what their deficiencies are. For this purpose, 89 articles and papers in the English language, including the keywords 'tourism' and 'technology' in the SCOPUS database, were accessed, and the data were analyzed by bibliometric analysis. As a result, it is noteworthy that the studies on tourism and technology have increased especially as of 2018, and peaked in 2020 with the Covid pandemic. At the same time, while it is observed that technology concentrates on studies on tourism marketing, management strategies, tourist behavior, and profiles, it has been determined that studies on technological education and the problems brought by technology are insufficient. While the study was an overview of academic studies in the field of research technology and tourism, it is thought to be a guide for further studies with its originality.
