Acute Effect of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization on Range of Motion in Persons with Shortness Hamstrings: A Pilot Study

Year 2022, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 41 - 51, 06.01.2023

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this pilot study is to examine the acute effect of a single session EYYDM on active and passive range of motion in individuals with hamstring shortness.
Method: A total of 11 healthy young individuals over 18 years of age were included in the study. Active/passive hip joint flexion angle of the participants was evaluated with digital inclinometer. EYYDM technique was applied to the participants for 5 minutes. Measurements were made before and immediately after the application, and the results were analyzed using the SPSS program.
Results: According to the evaluation made before and after the application, a significant increase was observed in both active and passive range of motion (p<0.05).
Conclusion: As a result, Single session EYYDM application is effective in increasing active and passive range of motion in individuals with hamstring shortness.

Hamstring Kısalığı Olan Kişilerde Enstrüman Yardımlı Yumuşak Doku Mobilizasyonun Akut Etkisi: Pilot Çalışma

Year 2022, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 41 - 51, 06.01.2023
