Abstract

Much have been said concering the presence of Proto-Bulgars in the region of the Caucasia, supported by many written sources and archeological findings hitherto but it has never been examined from the linquistic point of view. However, the best way in finding the traces of any culture, no matter whether ethnical group it belongs to, anywhere is to determine whether the linquistic affiliation of the before-said culture with its neighbouring ones. The main thema of this article revolves around the linquistic connection of Proto-Bulgars with the autochthonous population adjacent to the places, where they dwelt in the Caucasia as a rule.

Abstract

Proto-Bulgarların pek çok yazılı kaynak ve arkeolojik bulgularla desteklenen Kafkasya bölgesindeki varlığına dair bugüne kadar çok şey söylendi fakat hiçbir zaman dilsel açıdan incelenmedi. Halbuki, hangi etnik gruba ait olduğu önem taşımayan herhangi bir kültürün bir yerdeki izlerini bulmada en iyi yol, bahsi geçen kültürün komşu kültürlerle olan dilsel yakınlığını belirlemektir. Bu makalenin ana konusu, genel itibariyle, Proto-Bulgarların Kafkasya'da mesken tuttukları sahaların bitişiğindeki yerli nüfusla olan dilsel bağlantıları çerçevesinde geçmektedir.
