Elektriksel Kıvılcımla İşleme EKİ elektrik yüklü elektrotlar arasında oluşturulan kontrollü ardışık kıvılcımların termal etkilerini kullanan bir malzeme şekillendirme yöntemidir. Bu çalışmada DIN 1.4442 çift fazlı çeliğin EKİ yöntemiyle işlenmesinde kesit mikro yapısı ve sertliğindeki değişimler konu edilmiştir. Farklı dielektrik sıvı, toz katkısı ve takım elektrot malzemeleri denenerek numuneler yüksek darbe enerjisi ile işlenmiş ve derinliğe bağlı mikro sertlik değişimleri ölçülmüştür. Bulgular yeniden katılaşan katman kesit mikro yapıları ile birlikte değerlendirilmiştir. Kullanılan takım elektrot malzemesi ya da toz katkılarına bağlı olmaksızın suda işlenen numunelerin yeniden katılaşan katman sertliğinin değişmediği görülmüştür. Ancak hidrokarbon temelli dielektrik sıvıda EKİ yağı işleme yapıldığında sertlik hızla artmakta ve 850 HV değerine ulaşmaktadır. Takım elektrot malzemesi, dielektrik sıvı ve toz katkıları ise derinliğe bağlı sertlik değişimlerini etkilemektedir
Electrical Discharge Machining EDM is a material removal method that uses the thermal effects of successively controlled sparks created between electrically charged electrodes. In the study, the section microstructure and microhardness of EDM’ed DIN 1.4442 dual phase steel were investigated. Different dielectric liquids, powder additives, and electrode tool materials were examined using high pulse energy, and the microhardness depth profiles were measured. The findings are evaluated based on the resolidified layer microstructures. It was observed that the hardness of the resolidified layer has remained unchanged regardless of the used tool electrode materials or the powder additives if machining was conducted in water dielectric liquid. However, when the hydrocarbon-based dielectric fluid was used during machining the microhardness rapidly increases and reaches up to 850 HV. The tool electrode material, the dielectric liquid, and the powder additives affected the depth hardness profile.
