KARADENİZ’DE ULUSLARARASI TİCARETİN ÖLÇÜLMESİ VE ANALİZİ (1830-1913)

Abstract

Bir bölgenin ticaret tarihini incelemeden önce muhakkak o bölgenin ticaret hacminin tespit edilmesi gerekir. Bu hesaplama ticaretin artış ve azalışlarının konjonktürel mi yoksa sürekli mi olduğunun anlaşılabilmesi için gerekir. Karadeniz ticaretinin 19. yüzyılına dair olan literatür bir artış olduğunu iddia etmektedir. Fakat bu ticaretin boyutları dolaylı yollarla görülmüş, tam olarak hesaplanamamıştır. Böylelikle bu makalenin amacı Karadeniz ticaretinin büyüklüğünü ölçüp bu ticaretin yönünü tespit edebilmektir. Bu hesaplamayı yapabilmek için ticarette etkili olan 20 adet Karadeniz limanı değerlendirmeye alınmış, birincil kaynaklardan alınan ticaret verileri İngiliz sterlini cinsine çevrilerek bir araya getirilmiştir. Karadeniz limanlarında gelişen toplam deniz ticaretinin 80 yılda 47,8 kat arttığı ve yıllık ortalama artışının %11,3 olduğu görülmüştür. Bu verilere dayanarak 1830’dan Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na kadar geçen süreçte Karadeniz’de sürdürülebilir bir ticaretin oluştuğu anlaşılmıştır.
