Bakımda Gelişen Bir Paradigma: Saygılı Annelik Bakımı

Öz

Saygılı annelik bakımı, Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından tavsiye edilmekte olup, bütün kadınların onurunu, mahremiyetini, gizliliğini koruyacak, kadınların kötü muamele ve zarar görmelerini engelleyecek, doğum sırasında bilinçli seçim yapmalarını teşvik edecek ve sürekli destek sağlayacak şekilde organize edilen ve sunulan bakım anlamına gelmektedir. Saygılı annelik bakımı, bakım kalitesinin önemli bir bileşenidir. Kadınlar kendilerini desteklenmiş, saygı duyulan, güvende ve bakım sağlayıcılarıyla ortak karar alma süreçlerine katılabileceklerini hissettiklerinde, olumlu doğum deneyimleri yaşama olasılıkları daha yüksek olabilir. Saygılı annelik bakımı tüm sağlık profesyonelleri, özellikle doğum bakımında ön saflarda yer alan ebe ve hemşireler için olağan gerçekleştirilen bir bakım paradigması olmalıdır. Saygılı annelik bakımının gelişimi için doğum bakım sağlayıcılarının sürekli mesleki gelişimi desteklenmeli, sağlık tesisleri ve sağlık sistemleri, saygılı annelik bakımı sağlayacak şekilde yapılandırılmalıdır.
