A study on the determination of the factors affecting the anxiety level of university students (KTU sample)
Abstract
Aim of study: In this study, the state-trait anxiety scale was applied to the students of Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forestry Industry Engineering, and anxiety levels and factors affecting these anxiety levels were tried to be determined.
Material and Methods: State-Trait Anxiety Inventory consisting of 40 questions was used in the study. The Mann-Whitney U test and the Kruskal Wallis test were used in the evaluation of the scale.
Main results: As a result of the study, the state and trait anxiety levels were found as 46.50 and 43.97, respectively. It was also determined that these levels of anxiety did not differ according to gender, class, academic achievement level, family monthly average income, work experience and departmental preference.
Research highlights: State and trait anxiety levels are important concepts that affect students' educational and career successes.
