Abstract

TÜİK tarafından geçmiş yıllarda yapılan "Aile Yapısı Araştırması"nda eşler arasında soruna neden olan on iki konu sayılmıştır. Bunlardan ikisi ailenin ekonomisi ile ilgili olup biri "gelirin yeterli olmaması" diğeri de "harcamalar" olarak görülmüştür. Bu makalede, aileye ve korunmasına çok önem veren İslamiyet, bu ve benzeri sorunların çözümünde ne gibi prensip ve öğretilere sahiptir? sorusuna cevap aranmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmada âyet, hadis ve İslam âlimlerinin görüşlerinden hareketle İslam’ın bu problemin çözümünde iktisad üzere yaşamayı önerdiğini, israflı yaşam tarzından men ettiğini söyleyebiliriz.

Frugality as a Way of Resisting the Harms Inflicted Against the Family by Consumerism

Abstract

In recent years, the Turkish Statistical Institute discovered around twelve issues that

were prominent factors causing separation between husbands and wives. Two of those

issues, namely “insufficient income” and “expenditure” concern the economic aspect of

the family. In this article, answers are sought to questions concerning the teachings and

principles of Islam and how they are relevant in solving such problems that inflict family

life. Indeed it is important to note that Islam is concerned with the protection and preservation

of the family as an institution. It is also clear that the solution to such problems lie

in a frugal way of life and the prohibition of wastage as laid out in the Qur’an, Hadith and

in the statements and examples of countless muslim scholars.
