For articles submitted to Kayseri University Journal of Engineering and Science, the similarity index must not exceed 20% for original research articles and 30% for review articles. Moreover, similarity from any single source must not exceed 5%.
Authors submitting manuscripts to this journal are required to comply with the principles outlined in the Declaration of Publication Ethics and Misconduct. This declaration is based on the guidelines developed by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Council of Science Editors (CSE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
The principles are as follows:
1. Manuscripts submitted for publication must not have been previously published (including full-text papers presented at scientific meetings), nor be under concurrent review by another journal.
2. Authors agree to subject their submissions to double-blind peer review, whereby the article is reviewed by an editor and at least two referees.
3. All submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing unauthorized quotations, fabricated data, manipulated tables or figures, or unethical use of human or animal subjects will not be published.
4. It is considered unethical to add individuals who did not actively contribute to the manuscript as authors, to exclude those who did, to change the order of authors without valid justification, to remove the names of contributors in later editions, or to include the names of individuals using their influence despite lack of contribution.
5. For studies conducted with support, the names of funding individuals, institutions, or organizations, along with the nature of their contributions, must be disclosed.

Archive Policy
The archive process will be handled separately by Dergipark and the Kayseri University Department of Information Technologies. The archive at Dergipark will be open to the public and will be stored by the Kayseri University Department of Information Technologies.
Responsibilities of the Editor, Assistant Editors, Field Editors, Authors, Reviewers, and Editorial Board
● Editors are responsible for every publication published in the journal. They are responsible for ensuring the development of the journal, improving the quality of publications, and maintaining academic integrity. They make publication decisions based on factors such as the originality of articles, their contribution to the scientific field, and the validity of research methods. They adhere to the principles of blind peer review and transparency, keeping reviewers' identities confidential and ensuring independent evaluations. They also operate processes in accordance with journal policies, adhere to academic ethics, ensure the protection of personal data, and uphold human and animal rights. They take precautions against misconduct.
●Editors should make their decisions by considering the needs of readers, researchers, and practitioners, and ensure that published work is original and contributes to the scientific field. They should also prioritize feedback and provide descriptive and informative feedback.
● Editors make decisions based on the originality, validity, and relevance of studies to the journal's objectives. They ensure that studies suitable for publication are pre-evaluated and take into account reviewers' suggestions. New editors should not overturn the decisions of previous editors. They should implement a "Blind Peer Review and Evaluation Process" and prevent deviations. Editors should provide a detailed "Author Guidelines" for authors, which should be updated regularly. Authors should receive explanatory and informative feedback.
● Editors should select reviewers appropriate to the subject matter of the study and provide the necessary information and guidelines for review. They should respect conflicts of interest, maintain anonymity, and encourage impartial review. They should also evaluate reviewers' performance in a timely manner, establish improvement policies, and dynamically update the reviewer pool to ensure a broad range of reviewers. They should also discourage discourteous and unscientific reviews.
● Editors should ensure that editorial board members are conducted in accordance with editorial policies and guidelines. They should inform and train them. They should select new members with appropriate qualifications and submit them for review to manuscripts relevant to their areas of expertise. They should interact regularly with the editorial board, hold regular meetings, and review policies for the journal's development.
● Editors implement the "Blind Peer Review and Evaluation Process" in accordance with the journal's publication policies, ensuring the fair, impartial, and timely evaluation of each study. They are responsible for the quality assurance of published articles and ensure that they are published in accordance with international standards. They are responsible for ensuring the protection of personal data and rejecting studies without ethics committee approval. Editors are also responsible for protecting human and animal rights. They conduct objective investigations to prevent abuse and misuse. They promptly correct errors or inconsistencies and protect intellectual property rights. They consider constructive criticism, provide explanatory responses to complaints, and ensure independent decision-making. They ensure the impartiality of the process by considering conflicts of interest.
● The double-blind peer-review process ensures the journal's credibility by providing objective and independent evaluation. Reviewers should review only in their areas of expertise and adhere to the principles of impartiality and confidentiality. In the event of a conflict of interest, they must decline to review and inform the editor. The final versions of the reviewed papers are available after publication. Reviewers should base their evaluation solely on the content of the study and avoid personal bias. Review should be constructive and respectful, timely, and conducted in accordance with ethical responsibilities.
● Authors are expected to submit original work to the journal and cite it accurately. Authors must be solely intellectual contributors and disclose any conflicts of interest. Authors must be prepared to submit raw data and provide ethical clearance documents. Any errors or omissions discovered during the publication process must be corrected in collaboration with the editor. Submission of the same work to multiple journals is prohibited. The order of authors during the review process must not be changed. Necessary documents must be submitted for research requiring ethics committee approval. A Copyright Transfer Form must be completed and any conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Authors are obligated to retain the published data for 5 years.
● Kayseri University, a non-profit public educational institution, is the publisher of the journal. The Journal's Board of Directors pledges that editors are accountable for all aspects of the submitted manuscripts and that decisions are made independently of economic or political gain. The journal retains ownership and copyright of published articles and is responsible for maintaining a record of each copy. Furthermore, editors take precautions against problems such as scientific misconduct, citation fraud, and plagiarism.
