Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
The Journal of Northern Aegean Technical Sciences and Technology publishes scientific articles written in Turkish or English under the category of original research. Articles in this category are expected to present novel findings, propose new methods, or offer a new perspective to existing knowledge.

The Journal of Northern Aegean Technical Sciences and Technology is committed to fulfilling ethical duties and responsibilities based on the following guidelines:

Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive of the Council of Higher Education (Yükseköğretim Kurulu Bilimsel Araştırma ve Yayın Etiği Yönergesi)

TÜBİTAK Regulation on Research and Publication Ethics Board

Authors and reviewers are expected to comply with these principles.

Reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors (blind peer review). The double-blind review process (where reviewers also do not see author names) is optional and left to the authors' discretion. Authors wishing to remain anonymous must remove name and affiliation details from the manuscript before submission.

Acceptance or rejection decisions are made by the editors. Based on the reviewers' comments, manuscripts that are not yet adequate may receive a major revision (resubmit for review) or minor revision (minor corrections needed) decision. Manuscripts that do not meet the required scientific standards will be rejected.

Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.

All manuscripts submitted to our journal must comply with ethical research and publication standards. They should be prepared in accordance with internationally accepted research ethics. When applicable, a copy of the Ethics Committee Approval must be submitted together with the manuscript.

All submissions are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin and/or iThenticate software. The Similarity Index (SI) must not exceed 20%, and no single source should exceed 3%. Manuscripts that exceed these limits will be rejected. If plagiarism is proven after publication, the article will be immediately removed from the journal’s website, and the relevant author(s) will be banned from submitting to the journal for five years.

All articles submitted for publication must be prepared according to the journal's manuscript formatting guidelines.

Each author listed in the manuscript must sign the Copyright Transfer Form, declaring that the publication rights are transferred to the Journal of Northern Aegean Technical Sciences and Technology. Articles will not be considered for review unless this form is submitted.

A research article submitted to the journal must be structured under the following main sections:
Title, Abstract (in Turkish and English), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

The journal adopts an Open Access Publishing Policy.

Articles whose evaluation processes have been completed are published based on their submission dates. Once an article is finalized, it is assigned to the next available issue; however, each issue is published collectively once all articles for that issue are ready.

During the layout and typesetting stage, authors will receive proofs for final review. Authors must respond within the specified timeframe. Failure to do so may result in the article being postponed to the next issue.
