EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Articles submitted to Kastamonu Journal of Communication Research are first reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief in terms of academic/scholarly suitability and the ethical principles and publication policy of the journal; unsuitable articles may be rejected at this stage. After the first review, an assistant editor is appointed. This process varies according to the intensity of the manuscript, but averages 3 weeks.
ASSISTANT EDITOR The Deputy Editor checks the requested documents, signatures and general formal features of the manuscript during submission. Articles that are not deemed appropriate in terms of the ethical principles and publication policy of the journal may be rejected at this stage. If the revision completed by the author is approved, it determines the field in which the article will be evaluated and is notified to the Editor-in-Chief to appoint a field editor. This process varies according to the intensity of the article, but is approximately 3 weeks. The necessary procedures of the articles that have been finalised positively and have reached the publication stage are carried out by the deputy editor. Even if the articles have reached the publication stage, the deputy editor may send a revision request to the author when deemed necessary. After this stage, the articles are sent to the layout editor for layout and other publication procedures.

The Field Editor assigns referees at the next stage. In the light of the reports from the referees, it decides on Acceptance, Rejection, Minor Revision or Major Revision. At this stage, the manuscript is sent to the author for corrections (if any). If the referee wants to see the corrections, the manuscript is sent to the referee again. If the final decision of the referees is favourable, the evaluation process of the article continues.
REFEREE PROCESS: Articles submitted to Kastamonu Journal of Communication Research are subjected to double-blind peer review by at least two referees. If both referees reject the article, the article is rejected directly. In case of one acceptance and one rejection, the manuscript is sent to a third referee. LANGUAGE EDITOR: The English and Turkish Language/Spelling Editor evaluates the article in terms of its conformity with the journal's spelling rules, its conformity with the principles of citation, and its conformity to Turkish/English in terms of spelling and spelling rules. It may request revision when necessary. This process varies according to the intensity of the article, but it takes an average of 2 weeks. The revisions received from the language editor are forwarded to the Field Editor, and the Field Editor sends the article to the author. The manuscripts whose evaluation process is completed are sent to the English Language/Spelling editor to review the English abstracts and make corrections, if any.
