Outcomes of Euroscore I at Operated Patients in Our Clinic

Abstract

Introduction: The aim of the study was to evaluate the suitability of Euroscore I as a risk stratification system at operated patients in our clinic. Patients and Methods: In this study totally 520 patients who underwent open heart surgery between September 2006 and May 2008. 356 were men, 164 were women, mean age was 65.03 ± 13.08 years. EuroSCORE I system was used as a risk stratification system. If the patients have taken 2 point or less it was evaluated as low risk, 3-5 points wereevaluated as medium, 6 points or higher was evaluated as high risk. The calculated values for these three different group and happened mortality ratios was compared with estimated mortality ratios. Results: In the low risk group there was 267 patients and estimated mortality was 1.38 ± 0.04%, happened mortality was 1.49 ± 0.32%. In the medium risk group there was 185 patients and estimated mortality was 3.24 ± 0.83%, happened mortality was 3.78 ± 0.23%. In the high risk group 68 patients the estimated mortality was 7.96 ± 2.34%, happened mortalitiy was 8.82 ± 2.12%. Conclusion: EuroSCORE I as a risk stratification system is an objective and secure system that was used for risk determination of cardiac surgery.

Kliniğimizde Ameliyat Olan Hastaların Euroscore I Risk Skorlama Sistemiyle Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Giriş: Bu çalışmanın amacı, kliniğimizde ameliyat olan hastalarda EuroSCORE I skorlama sisteminin uygunluğunu değerlendirmektir. Hastalar ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmada, kliniğimizde Eylül 2006-Mayıs 2008 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilen 520 açık kalp olgusu değerlendirildi. Hastaların 356'sı erkek,164'ü kadın, ortalama yaş 65.03 ± 13.08 yıl idi. Risk skorlama sistemi olarak EuroSCORE I kullanıldı. Hastalar 2 veya daha az puan almışlarsa düşük risk grubu, 3-5 puan almışlarsa orta risk grubu, 6 puan ve üzeri almışlarsa yüksek risk grubu olarak değerlendirildi. Üç ayrı grup için hesaplanan skor değerleri ve gerçekleşen mortalite oranları EuroSCORE tarafından belirlenen beklenen mortalite oranlarıyla karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular: Düşük risk grubunda 267 hasta olup beklenen mortalite %1.38 ± 0.04, gerçekleşen mortalite %1.49 ± 0.32; orta risk grubunda 185 hasta olup beklenen mortalite %3.24 ± 0.83, gerçekleşen mortalite %3.78 ± 0.23; yüksek risk grubunda 68 hastada beklenen mortalite %7.96 ± 2.34, gerçekleşen mortalite %8.82 ± 2.12 bulunmuştur. Sonuç: EuroSCORE I kalp cerrahisinin değerlendirilmesi için kullanılan objektif ve güvenilir bir sistemdir
